A letter to my sons.

Aidan and Gavin,

Words can't express how happy you make Daddy and I. We feel so blessed to have you as our sons- the two sweetest, most loving boys we could imagine. The icing on our cake is the fact that you are also the best brothers.

A big "first" just happened tonight that I wanted to share with you. (Gavin has just recently been able to say more words and it is thrilling to hear).

Upon returning home from our day with Grandma, Boppa and Aunt Terry at the Aquarium & Red Robin's, Aidan, you had to run to the bathroom. On your way there, you yelled, "Love you, Gav," closed the door and started your business. You didn't hear that Gavin actually replied, clearly and for the first time ever, "I love you too, Aidan." (sounding like I Yove you too A-den.) It was so sweet, a full sentence, and Daddy and I looked at each other wide-eyed. I ran to the bathroom to tell you what he said and you replied, "I can't believe it." Then you questioned me if he said it perfectly. When I told you he did, you said, "Wow, I'm gonna get a treat for him for that," with such pride in your voice. :)

It was such a sweet moment between siblings that I will treasure forever. And I know these are the moments you probably won't remember as you grow up together. Aidan, you'll probably remember how Gavin repeated everything you said and "copied you" all the time, and Gavin, you may recall wishing you could do everything your older brother could. But I hope you know without a doubt that you two have been best friends from the start, have an unbreakable bond that is something to cherish, and you not only love each other to pieces but you really do like each other!

You both are the best.

With all my love,
Mommy
