Big kid stuff
Aidan began two new activities this Fall- piano lessons with a sweet old lady named Ms. Atkins, and Tiger Scouts- following his Dad's footsteps in scouting. He loves both and is doing great!
Next, we went to our very first UD Men's Basketball Game. I couldn't believe how much the kids got into it! They even witnessed their very first half-court shot.

We also went to the Delaware Museum of Natural History and got a personalized tour! It was all about fossils and various animals, and given Aidan's love of animals and nature, I must say he was the star scout that day. :) Here are two sweet pics I quickly snapped as my heart melted watching Aidan hold Gavin's hand and lead his little bro around with the big boys!
Aidan, Kevin and Boppa participated in the Scout Winter Overnighter at the end of January, where they slept on the U.S.S. Battleship New Jersey! It was docked in Camden, New Jersey permanently a few years ago and is now considered a museum. They all learned lots of interesting navy factoids, but the only thing Aidan talked about when he got home was how good the food and snacks were. :)
Next, Kevin, Aidan and Gavin toured the DelDot headquarters in Smyrna. Aidan and a few of his buddies even got to record a message encouraging people to drive slow and save a life. The message looped on the State's traffic station for days!
Aidan and Kevin also had a great time building Aidan's very first Pinewood Derby Car together. Obviously, this is right up Kevin's alley and the sports car turned out super cool. They painted it and named it striper, and Aidan ended up having the fastest car in his den!
Kevin took Aidan to the end of the year Blue and Gold Banquet, where Aidan earned many of his awards and officially completed his Tiger Rank. He came home with his proud face painted like a tiger. :)
Tiger Scouts: He meets with his "den" twice a month and participates in activities in between meetings. His first outing was a hike with Daddy in Maryland. He was the youngest scout to complete the 3 mile trek! Then he visited a fire station and let Mommy and Gavin tag-along too. :)

Lastly, here is a pic I snapped of my big boy at his piano lesson. <3 He is not the best practicer for Mommy, but is a perfect student for Ms. Atkins!

Aidan and Gavin 'isms
It's time for our installment of the recent things these boys have said that have made us scratch our heads or burst out in laughter. Enjoy!
Gavin
- (After he got 2 lollipops) "Look, Mommy, I got two! One for me... and one for me!!"
- (Talking about his second soccer game) "I got 4 goals. I never been that good before."
- "Mommy, when can I be a girl so I can do dance class?"
- (Referring to me about to take the banana out of the peel to cut it up for him) " Keep the banana in the bun!"
- "Mom, every day I go to school I love... I love my school... and my bus... and my grandma's house."
- "Mom, I'm going to just wear underwear like Aidan every day for the rest of my life."
- "Mommy, when is it going to be good morning time?"
- (Upset after getting hurt from rough-housing with Aidan) "Aidan elbowed me with his knee elbow!"
- (After eating a sandwich with mustard on it, Gavin yells this from the bathroom) " Mom! I'm peeing the mustard out!"
Aidan
- (Mom: Aidan I'll come in after you poop for a few minutes.) "Thanks, Mom, because I need to focus on my big poop."
-(After Connor sneezed) "Does he have allergies?" (Me: I don't think so, but he does have a lot of snot.) "Are his eyes wet?" (Me: No) "Okay, he has allergies. If his eyes were wet he'd have person allergies."
- Gavin: "Aidan! We're locked in!" Aidan: "I'll get it. I'll fart on the lock."
- "Mommy, I think Carleigh is in love with me." (Me: Why?) "Because she kept worrying about me and asking if I was okay."
- "When can we use Sparkle? It's a kind of toilet paper that can hold a volleyball."
- "Mom, on the outside I don't like Frozen because it's a girl show- but on the inside I really like it."
- "Mom, is it true that when you pee in your underwear it'll dry up and be like it was never there? Because that's what happens to me because I always hold it because we're always doing important work."

My sprinkle
I have the BEST friends and family, and felt so special on the afternoon of my Sprinkle. I never expected so much love, support and celebration for BabyFunTimes #4, and I am truly touched and grateful!
Here are some photos from that beautiful day, hosted by my next-door neighbor and good friend Nadine, obviously event planner and decorator extraordinaire. :O)

This day truly made me so excited for the arrival of our new son.
Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone!

Gavin the... Baller?
Gavin played basketball for the first time each Sunday morning throughout the winter and had a blast. Some of his neighborhood friends played on the same team which was definitely a highlight for him. And while he barely touched the ball and hardly had a clue as to what he was doing, watching his practices and games was the most comical way to start each Sunday! We loved it. :)
