My sprinkle

I have the BEST friends and family, and felt so special on the afternoon of my Sprinkle. I never expected so much love, support and celebration for BabyFunTimes #4, and I am truly touched and grateful!

Here are some photos from that beautiful day, hosted by my next-door neighbor and good friend Nadine, obviously event planner and decorator extraordinaire. :O)

This day truly made me so excited for the arrival of our new son.
Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone!

Gavin the... Baller?

Gavin played basketball for the first time each Sunday morning throughout the winter and had a blast. Some of his neighborhood friends played on the same team which was definitely a highlight for him. And while he barely touched the ball and hardly had a clue as to what he was doing, watching his practices and games was the most comical way to start each Sunday! We loved it. :)

He's not short.. is he? ;-)
Gavin and his buddy Brayden trying to get acquainted with their mouth guards!
Connor always found lots of fun in the gym each weekend. ;-)
His official photo... there are no words!

He was so proud and excited to earn his very own medal AND trophy!

Reflection.

On Children
Kahlil Gibran

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.
