How is this possible? I am the mother to a boy who is old enough to go to kindergarten. I remember being in kindergarten myself… I remember exactly what the room looked like. I remember my Pappy dressing up as Santa at Christmastime… and now here I am walking my son to the bus-stop to start his own kindergarten adventure. Times have certainly changed since I was there but I am hoping the fact that I still recall it so clearly means I am still young at heart and will enjoy every second of this "growing up thing" with my precious Aidan. :)
As of October, Aidan's best friend in his class is the other Aidan! Aidan goes by "Aidan C." and his best friend goes by "Aidan H." They sit together at lunch every day and play together at recess, etc. I had the pleasure of meeting Aidan H. on their first field trip and so far the biggest difference I can tell between the two of them is this… Aidan H. has an earring. Yes. We live in Delaware.
If you ask Aidan what his favorite part of school is, he will tell you, "snack time, lunchtime and recess." If you press him he will add "gym, art and music" (they have one of each Mon-Thurs.) I'm not concerned he's not too into his "studies" just yet however… Let kids be kids, I say!
