Aidan turns 4!

I can't believe I am a mother of a 4 year old!!! These last 4 years have been more fun than I could have ever imagined. So, Aidan deserved a birthday party to match. Held on St. Patty's Day, we honored our Irish as well as partied with the dinosaurs to celebrate this perfect boy's 4th year. :)

The Three Musketeers... Today, posing as 3 little leprechauns.

I am so glad the birthday boy had such a fantastic party. It more than made up for the little depression he suffered the night before! I guess we must've said one too many times to him that he was turning 4 and growing up, etc. Because on the eve of his birthday, I found him sad in his room. I didn't know what was wrong all of the sudden and he very sullenly told me that he "didn't want to be grown!!" He was worried that he wouldn't fit in his bed or his truck anymore, etc. etc. The poor kid literally thought that 4 was the end of his childhood. Oops! So I explained to him that when he woke up in the morning he'd still look and feel the same, he would just be a different number. He started lightening up a little, and then asked me, "Mommy, tomorrow when I'm a little bit bigger, can you teach me how to do grown up stuff?"

Ah, how do I love him? Let me count the ways...
:-))
