Oh Christmas Tree...

Every year we look forward to our Christmas tree hunt to kick off the holiday season. The tradition starts out at the Zarzyckis' house bright & early with our lattes and kiddies in tow. Then we all caravan to the tree farm and hunt for the perfect tree. The first year we joined this tradition, all the kids (with the exception of Riley who was 2) were about 6 months old being carried around by all of us. As you can imagine, each year has gotten more and more fun, with this year being the best yet.

The kids chased each other around each tree and loved climbing the fence to see the real live reindeer at the tree farm. Gavin slept through the whole event, but Aidan was a big help, making sure we knew that each tree we considered was "too big!"

After we all found our tree, we took the tractor ride back to our cars and headed back for lunch. Later that night and the next day, we enjoyed decorating the tree as a family. There is one word for Christmas at the Calveys this year, and it's magical.

It's Christmastime!

As Aidan exclaimed on a daily basis throughout the past month... "It's Christmastime, Mommy! Santa come to my house and see me and bring me presents!"

Enjoy some holiday fun photos of our favorite little elves. :-)

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.

3 months old!

Just like New York City, Gavin is really fun, one-of-a-kind, sometimes smelly and never sleeps.
Unlike NYC, he is so sweet and innocent, we get to see him every day and his constant smiles and songs more than make up for the fact he still likes to be up all night. :o) Happy 3 month birthday, bud!

Gavin's Baptism

The best excuse ever to get a whole day with our wonderful family and friends. Thanks, Gavin! :)

Who is sweeter? Gavin, or these cupcakes? Hmmm...

The amazing godparents- Elise and John

No surprise here- Aidan was ecstatic about church and picture taking. :)

Josie Truitt... Kevin's goddaughter and the girl of Aidan's dreams... literally. (Aidan has awoke from his nap on more than one occasion stating "Josie's pretty!)

Congratulations to Gavin Patrick!

What young grandparents! :)

Gavin's great-grandmother, Doreen Meischeid. aka. Carrie's Gaga
You have come into the world so tiny,
Yet with such great promise for the future.
Before you were even born,
God planned wonderful things for you.
As you are baptized,
May you feel His love
And the love of those around you,
And may you always follow in His way.

Daddy is silly.

And Gavin loves him.

Someone is delighted that they were baptized!

26 and 14 years old and they're still at the kiddie table. :)

Comfy cozy in his Great Auntie M's lap

Aunts Kathy and Alli!

Do they make a more beautiful family?? The DeCostanzas (minus Luke)

Aidan loves his Pops.

John (Aidan's Godpappy) and Nicole Truitt. What pretty friends we have. :)

Pappy on his 2nd course!

Best aunts ever.

I remember when this block tower was twice as big as him!

Dapper gentlemen.

Miss Lina DeCostanza

The Tolmies and Calveys

There is a horse under Pops, just so you know. :O)

There's the Lukester!
Uncle Billy is the best narrator!

John, Kevin, John and Luke.  Best men and godfathers and all around great guys.

Thanksgiving

Of course we have more than ever to be thankful for this year. As Gavin's birth announcement said.. We thank God above for doubling our joy... a beautiful baby brother for our loving big boy!

Besides these munchkins, some items on our gratitude list...

1.) The BEST family and friends (we are truly so thankful for each and every one of you that are reading this right now. You have all touched our lives in different and special ways, and there is no better time to recognize this than today!)

2.) Our health. Gavin's milk protein intolerance and Aidan's 4 stitches close out our health issues for the year, and we know how lucky we are that these are the only things we've had to face.

3.) Growth... in our jobs and in our relationships, in our sons and in ourselves, there is really not much more to accomplish than continually growing and soaking up as much as life can offer us in the short time we are all here on this earth.
