Spring soccer

Spring is upon us and that means another soccer season has begun. Kevin continued from the Fall and is coaching Aidan's Soccer Tots team again. Practices are every Wednesday evening and games are every Saturday. While this commitment can be stressful at times (and we wonder how on Earth life will work once we have all THREE boys in activities and sports when they're older!), our little routine brings us lots of joy.

And while Kevin's work schedule often makes his life difficult and family time scarcer than we'd like, he makes the time to coach Aidan's team because it is important to him. I know these practices and games spent together will always be a part of Aidan's best childhood memories with his Dad...

So once a week, we head over to the park for practice as a family. Gavin "helps" Aidan and Daddy set up the cones for practice (see below), entertains Aidan's teammates for a few minutes, and then Mommy and Gavin walk over to the playground for 45 minutes. Gavin always makes a friend or two, and then we join Daddy and Aidan to end the night with an ice cream cone.

Saturdays, while Gavin tells everyone he is "four" and thinks he should get to play on the field with Team California, he is big enough now where he does let me watch and cheer for Aidan and his teammates a bit before going off to explore the rest of what Kirkwood has to offer that day. :)

Team California!
